Challenge: To protect confidential information and improve internal control auditing, Hitachi requires that every user is authenticated before using company systems. However, without an integrated solution users had multiple identities and passwords, which were difficult and time-consuming to manage.
Solution: Hitachi designed and built a centralised authentication infrastructure based on CA SiteMinder®. The solution provides single sign-on capabilities to increase efficiency and is highly scalable to support expansion.
Result: CA SiteMinder has been deployed widely by the Hitachi Group in Japan, improving data security and staff productivity as users do not need to remember multiple identities and passwords. Once the deployment is completed group-wide, Hitachi’s deployment will be one of the largest single sign-on environments in the world.
