Business: The Bank of Finland is Finland’s national monetary authority and a member of the Eurosystem. It manages Finland’s currency supply and foreign exchange reserves and is involved in making and implementing monetary policy.
Challenge: The bank relies on more than 58 business systems to support its day-to-day activities, which must remain highly available. However, since the introduction of the euro the number of bank employees has decreased, leaving a smaller IT unit to manage an increasing number of systems.
Solution: Using a range of CA Technologies’ service management solutions, the Bank of Finland is able to provide more proactive and standardised IT support services. A better understanding of the IT infrastructure has enabled the bank to reduce the volume of IT issues and resolve problems faster.
Benefit: The bank’s IT unit can now better meet the needs of the business, even though it has a smaller team. As well as improving efficiency, the bank has been able to reduce costs and safeguard business continuity.
