ISLANDIA, NY, November 14, 2007 – CA (NYSE: CA) employees, as part of CA's global philanthropy program 'CA Together in Action', participated in team projects that give employees the opportunity to take time out of the office to volunteer in their communities. During the first two weeks in November, over 600 employees participated in more than 60 different projects around the world. This is the second year CA has held this two week global philanthropy program.
"CA is committed to improving the quality of life in communities around the globe where we live and work," said Anne Marie Agnelli, vice president of community affairs at CA. "CA Together in Action 2007 was a tremendous success and we look forward to building on this momentum by setting even more ambitious initiatives in 2008."
CA arranged a variety of projects for nonprofits including Boys & Girls Clubs of America, Habitat for Humanity, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Ronald McDonald House. In addition to building houses, making hospital visits and packing food for homeless families, employees donated their time to assist nonprofits with marketing and IT projects.
CA Together in Action is just one component of CA's employee volunteer program. Each year employees volunteer their own time and talents to a wide variety of organizations and causes. CA also runs blood drives, clothing drives, food drives and fundraisers as well as holiday programs.
