Business:
The Mairie de Paris is responsible for providing public services for the French capital, which
is home to more than two million people. The authority employs approximately 43,000
people across 2,500 sites, including municipal nurseries, libraries, parks and gardens,
museums, workshops, and administrative offices.
Challenge:
To ensure the delivery of IT services to Parisians as well its employees and to cater for
increasing demands on bandwidth, the Mairie de Paris launched a strategic project to
deploy a high-speed fibre optic network across 1,800 sites. To ensure the stability of this
new network, it needed a solution that offered proactive monitoring on a par with the
challenges of the project.
Solution:
By deploying CA Spectrum® Infrastructure Manager, the Mairie de Paris will be able to
centrally monitor its new network, which will eventually connect 1,800 sites. The
solution’s automated asset discovery, alarm notifications and performance alerts, combined
with patented event correlation and root cause analysis capabilities, ensures that
infrastructure-related problems are rapidly detected, isolated and resolved.
Result:
The Mairie de Paris will now be able to manage a much larger network. Proactive network
infrastructure monitoring and rapid incident resolution will also help to reduce costs,
provide Parisians with better access to online public services and improve access to
information services for council workers.
