CA the world’s leading independent provider of IT management software, has released the results of a new independent survey: The 2009 'CA Web Stress Index'. Alexander Kjerulf, "Chief Happiness Officer of the Happy at Work Project" explains why Web Stress is influencing organizations and their customers.

2009 CA Web Stress Index

68% of workers say they rely on web applications more now than two years ago and 97% wouldn’t be able to do their job without them.

24% say that every day they have to cope with badly performing applications with an additional third 34% claiming this happens on a weekly basis.

81% say they have no choice but to use some business applications even when they aren’t working properly

77% of European consumers surveyed blame either the business that owns the website or the web hosting company, when an online application fails.

32% of consumers expect a problem or an error online to be fixed within just ten minutes. This increases to 67% within an hour and by the 24 hour threshold, 97% would expect the issue to have been resolved.

With only 18% taking the time to report the problem, it’s essential that businesses proactively monitor their systems so they know as soon as performance issues arise.
