Bussiness:
CA helped BMW establish a scalable
and centralised Web access management
and single sign-on platform, which
enhances security while also reducing IT
administration and associated costs.
Challenge:
To support online collaboration between
employees and third parties, organisations
need to ensure their Web applications are
subject to tight access controls. This control,
however, needs to be balanced with ease of
use to maximise productivity and simplify
ongoing IT management. Single sign-on
meets both these goals, as it enables users to
seamlessly transfer between online
applications and reduces the complexity and
cost associated with managing thousands of
different identities.
Solution:
CA SiteMinder® Web Access Manager
(WAM) is a centralised Web access
management solution that enables user
authentication and single sign-on. By
deploying this solution, BMW has been able
to provide more than 300,000 users with
secure access to multiple Internet and
intranet applications through a single login.
CA SiteMinder WAM can be integrated
with enterprise applications, such as
SAP and PeopleSoft, as part of the single
sign-on process.
Results:
CA SiteMinder WAM has enabled BMW to
establish a scalable and centralised Web
access management and single sign-on
platform. This approach:
- Enhances security and compliance
- Reduces IT administration and
associated costs.
With CA SiteMinder WAM, BMW can provide
thousands of employees, partners, suppliers
and dealers with rapid access to its portals.
