Business: Sol Meliá is the world’s largest chain of resort hotels, with more than
300 hotels in 30 countries. The company was founded in 1956 and has around 35,000
employees.
Challenge: The introduction of a global shared services centre meant that the Sol
Meliá needed to centralise IT project management, improve how it matched resources to
business demand and introduce greater automation.
Solution: Sol Meliá has been using CA Clarity Project & Portfolio Management (PPM)
since 2007. Around 150 members of staff use the solution to manage a portfolio of 46
business services, 650 active and pipeline projects and programmes and 550 human
resources.
Result: CA Clarity PPM has enabled Sol Meliá to improve cost control through
greater operational efficiency, prioritise projects more effectively and optimise use of its
resources.
