The Region of Lombardy organizazion governs one of Italy's largest and economically most important regions. They leverage IT service provider, Lombardia Informatica, to help them with IT system design and management.
Challenge:
Italian data protection regulations require companies to produce an annual “Security Framework Declaration” (DPS, Documento programmatico sulla sicurezza). These were ratified by the Region of Lombardy, who turned to its IT services provider, Lombardia Informatica, for guidance regarding the technological impact. The DPS presented the regional authority with an opportunity to optimize access and authentication procedures for its 4,000 employees.
Solution:
Lombardia Informatica selected CA SiteMinder Web Access Manager (WAM), CA Identity Manager and CA Single Sign-On (CA SSO) to unify access and authentication to the Region of Lombardy's 160 applications while streamlining identity administration and provisioning processes.
Result:
Thanks to this security system, local government employees now spend at least 70% less time on login procedures, bringing significant gains in productivity. In addition, a centralized identity management system enables closer collaboration and better interaction between IT and Human Resources.
