Challenge: To enable cost savings and enhance business agility, Nordea embarked on a major project to rationalise its application portfolio. To support the project, the company needed detailed centralised application information.
Solution: CA Clarity™ PPM (Project & Portfolio Management) is used to track 3,300 business applications, including banking systems, customer relationship management solutions and back office software. The solution provides a consistent framework for making informed decisions as to whether to retire, upgrade or replace applications.
Result: Nordea has been able to identify 150 applications for retirement, resulting in cost savings of €3.5 million. The project has also helped the company simplify IT support and maintenance, implement new services faster and keep up to date with changing legislation.
