CA Technologies has become a leader in software for energy, carbon and sustainability management. The cloud-enabled CA ecoSoftware solution uses leading-edge technology to measure, manage and report a company’s progress.

We also provide other solutions in cloud computing, virtualization and automation, and Software as a Service (SaaS), which can help organizations reduce costs, increase efficiency and improve sustainability performance. Our CA ecoSoftware solution is only distributed electronically. In other solution areas, we currently release most products on DVDs in biodegradable packaging and with a goal to distribute electronically as much of our software as possible.

U.K. Customer Study

CA Technologies recently commissioned a study among companies in the U.K. that found firms are starting to address sustainability for three main reasons: cost reduction, compliance with legislation and communication with stakeholders. In fact, 66% of companies surveyed believe that complying with the U.K.’s new CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme regulations will reduce costs and energy use. However, the survey also revealed that 79% of the organizations polled still rely on spreadsheets to manage their energy and carbon data. But they are looking ahead: 65% of those surveyed want the head of the IT department directly involved in carbon reduction strategies. Half of those surveyed have already set aside budgets for producing energy, carbon and sustainability management solutions like CA ecoSoftware.

In the U.K., we recently formed a strategic alliance with Siemens to provide carbon and sustainability management tools and processes that measure, assess and report environmental impact and performance. These collaborations give us a competitive edge, providing customers with a broad range of sustainability solutions.
