CA IDMS™ Version 18.0 for z/OS is Now GA
On behalf of CA Technologies, we appreciate your business and the opportunity to provide high-quality, innovative software and services. As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we regularly release updated versions of our products. We are pleased to announce that CA IDMS™/DB 18.0 for z/OS is now Generally Available.

New features for CA IDMS/DB 18.0 include a new release of the entire mainframe CA IDMS product family. CA IDMS/DB Version 18.0 expands zIIP exploitation, fully supports CA MSM, and adds significant productivity, availability and open access enhancements to address your organizations online and batch processing, transactions from the Web, and other distributed access. To obtain your copy of CA IDMS/DB 18.0, contact CA Customer Care at +1-800-225-5224 in North America or see the CA Support Phone Directory for the local number in your country. You may also download this product online through CA Support.

We recommend that you use CA Mainframe Software Manager (CA MSM) to download and install CA IDMS/DB 18.0. CA Mainframe Software Manager (CA MSM) is a web-based application that simplifies the management of CA mainframe products on z/OS systems. As CA Technologies products adopt the services provided by CA MSM, you can acquire, install, and maintain them in a common way. CA IDMS/DB can be acquired, installed, deployed and maintained using CA MSM today. Please visit CA Support MSM to learn more about the new features provided by CA MSM.

CA IDMS™ Version 18.0 zIIP Utilization Improvements
CA IDMS Version 18.0 for z/OS® makes expanded use of the zIIP engine, which IBM originally introduced to handle specific types of processing workloads. CA IDMS 18.0 enables you to direct a much broader set of functions to the zIIP. To find out more about CA IDMS and zIIP utilization, go to ca.com/IDMS.

CA IDMS™ r16 - End of Service
This is a reminder that the end of service date for CA IDMS r16 is January 31, 2012. This includes CA IDMS r16.0, r16.2 and all related service packs. More information can be found on the product page when you logon to support.ca.com.

  • Go to the MyCA link at the top of any ca.com page. Enter your login information or register.
  • Update your profile by clicking your first name at the very top of the web page
  • Then click the Edit Profile button and enter an Alias/Screen Name that makes you easily identifiable, such as firstname_lastname - no spaces are allowed. Click Submit.
  • Click Take Me Back to return to your MyCA page, join a CA Community and start sharing!

Once you've registered on MyCA, you can access and join CA Communities. CA Communities enable you to interact with other customers and CA Technologies employees through blogs and message boards. You can join product presentations, webcasts and training that provide strategic information for your CA Technologies solutions. Join a group to stay informed of upcoming CA Community events.

CICS TS 4.2 Support
As part of our ongoing commitment to customer success, we are happy to announce that CA IDMS™ provides support for CICS TS 4.2 on day one of general availability. Please review the CA IDMS solution at CA IDMS and CTS 4.2 for any prerequisite maintenance required for support of CICS TS 4.2.
