Customer Solutions

CA Technologies has become a leader in software for energy, carbon and sustainability management. The cloud-enabled CA ecoSoftware solution uses leading-edge technology to measure, manage and report a company’s progress.

We also provide other solutions in cloud computing, virtualization and automation, and Software as a Service (SaaS), which can help organizations reduce costs, increase efficiency and improve sustainability performance. Last year, we committed to moving toward a goal of 100 percent electronic distribution of software with no packaging or shipping of products. With all but two of our software products available as electronic downloads, we have made good progress toward meeting this goal. However, because some customers—such as government agencies—require physical delivery of software products, we will also continue to offer that as an option. And with our new e-billing system, invoices no longer need to be printed in order to be paid, allowing us to eliminate paper from our invoice processing.

As customers embrace sustainability, seek to reduce energy spend and anticipate increased regulatory actions, they recognize the need to move beyond spreadsheets and gain more functionality. This leads them to the kind of innovative software solutions and computing approaches CA Technologies offers and supports. Our solutions facilitate enterprise sustainability management, enabling greater collaboration and improved effectiveness of sustainability programs, minimizing data management errors, lowering costs and making it easier to verify reporting results.

Our continuing focus on improving customer support helps deliver better experiences and enables our customers to get the greatest possible benefits from our products. This approach pushed our customer support satisfaction score to a new high of 8.9 out of 10 and prompted one customer to say, “The level of support I received made me feel as if I were CA Technologies only customer.” The score is based on a 10 point scale and includes more than 15,000 survey responses. Support has improved its score by 0.1 point each year over the past five years—a significant accomplishment considering the group handles more than 300,000 issues each year. Changes in the culture are credited with helping to boost the scores.customer-solutions

Customer — Wyndham Worldwide, U.S.
With more than 92,000 locations and over 58 brands in nearly 100 countries, Wyndham Worldwide is among the world’s largest hospitality companies. Its operations encompass hotels, vacation exchanges and rentals, and vacation ownership (timeshare). Combined with its corporate and support locations around the world, the company’s scope and scale are unique in the hospitality industry.

Wyndham realizes it has an opportunity to leverage its scale to make a significant and lasting environmental impact around the globe. And its Wyndham Green program helps it do just that. The program helps the company meet its goals to reduce its environmental footprint, and extends with training and educating approximately 26,000 associates and millions of customers worldwide.

Partly as a result of these efforts, Wyndham has earned the top spot in the latest Newsweek Green Rankings in its category and among the top 10 percent in the S&P 500 Carbon Disclosure Project Leadership Index.

Wyndham is working with CA Technologies to track and measure a number of environmental metrics, including energy usage, water consumption and waste generation. The company says CA ecoSoftware met its requirements for a solution that is scalable, customizable, offers global enterprise compatibility and is from a company it could partner with.

Since implementing CA ecoSoftware across its operationally controlled portfolio, Wyndham is collecting more accurate data and realizing savings in a number of different areas. Even more important, CA ecoSoftware is helping Wyndham accomplish its goal of reducing its carbon footprint by 20 percent by 2020, based on 2010 intensity metrics.

U.K. Customer Study
CA Technologies commissioned a study among companies in the U.K. that found firms are starting to address sustainability for three main reasons: cost reduction, compliance with legislation and communication with stakeholders. In fact, 66 percent of companies surveyed believe that complying with the U.K.’s new CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme regulations will reduce costs and energy use. However, the survey also revealed that 79 percent of the organizations polled still rely on spreadsheets to manage their energy and carbon data. But they are looking ahead: 65 percent of those surveyed want the head of the IT department directly involved in carbon reduction strategies. Half of those surveyed have already set aside budgets for producing energy, carbon and sustainability management solutions like CA ecoSoftware.
