Workforce Diversity

According to the Williams Institute, 96% of the top 50 Fortune 500 companies and 88% of the top 50 federal government contractors state that, in general, diversity policies and generous benefit packages are good for their business. We agree. Last year, we increased our focus on diversity and inclusion in the workplace and are just starting to see results in senior management. In May 2012, CA Technologies was named one of 25 Best Companies for Multicultural Women by Working Mother magazine.

Going forward, we are emphasizing initiatives centering on equal rights and benefits for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) employees. In the most recent Corporate Equality Index ranking compiled by the Human Rights Campaign, CA Technologies received a rating of 80 out of 100. This is the first year CA Technologies participated in the program and this involvement demonstrates our commitment to equality in the workplace and supports our core value of treating every employee with respect.

To align with the company’s goals and further promote the core values that unify employees, CA Technologies is also encouraging the formation of Employee Network Groups (ENG) among colleagues. These groups play an important role in helping to create an inclusive work environment in which diverse perspectives are respected and valued. ENGs are voluntary groups formed by employees with executive sponsorship and Human Resources support. They are open to all employees globally to unite and celebrate commonalities such as race, gender, ethnicity, background, age, social identity, interests and experiences. The groups, which provide networking, personal development and professional growth opportunities, can be formed locally, regionally or virtually. Each group will be focused on business-related issues pertaining to its participants and work to establish a welcoming place to share ideas and talent.

There are currently 6 ENGs:

* Families (company-wide virtual ENG)

* Islandia Families (local chapter ENG)

* LGBTA (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, transgender allies) (company-wide virtual ENG)

* Women @ CA (company-wide virtual ENG)

* Lisle Women (local chapter)

* Pittsburgh Women (local chapter); Young Professionals (virtual)

Profile: Meghan Stabler

In order to achieve a rating of 100, CA Technologies must provide transgender-inclusive health insurance coverage and demonstrate firm-wide organizational competency on LGBT issues. This effort is being led by Meghan Stabler, one of our global senior IT operations directors, who also champions diversity and inclusion at CA Technologies and serves on President Obama’s National LGBT Policy Committee.
