CA firmly believes in the power of its employees to make a difference where they live and work. Whether it is one employee mentoring a teenager or a team of employees building a house, CA promotes a philanthropic spirit through several programs.
The CA Together Matching Gifts Program is driven by employees' passion and their commitment to help others. Employees can contribute to non-profit organizations and communities of their choice worldwide and CA will match their gift one-for-one.
Thousands of non-profit organizations and hundreds of educational institutions have benefited from contributions by CA and its employees. The majority of community funding is awarded through the CA Together Employee Matching Gifts Program.
CA Together In Action
In 2006 CA launched CA Together in Action. For two weeks beginning each October, CA now organizes team volunteer projects that give employees the opportunity to take a day out of the office and volunteer in the community. CA arranges a variety of projects including building houses, making hospital visits, packing food for homeless families and even helping non-profits with marketing and IT projects.
Over 600 CA employees worldwide took part in CA Together In Action 2007, which included 68 volunteer projects throughout 31 offices in 11 countries. This two week program, which was held October 29 through November 9, brought together CA employees from around the world - all dedicated to making a real difference in their very own communities. All projects took place during normal business hours, and offered a unique opportunity to see firsthand the difference made by the generosity and hard work of CA employees. This was the second year of CA Together in Action, a program which has more than tripled in participation since its inception. We are looking forward to CA Together in Action 2008, which will be held throughout the month of October.
Volunteer projects were done in partnership with non-profits around the world including Habitat for Humanity, Ronald McDonald House, NY Cares, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, as well as several hospitals and food banks. Several CA Executives took part in these volunteer activities, including CEO, John Swainson, who gave his time at the Habitat Humanity Build in the Long Island town of Wyandanch, NY.
CA Together Volunteering Partnerships
CA offers a number of programs that support and encourage its 15,000 employees around the world to become actively involved in their communities.
To find volunteer opportunities in their local communities, CA provides employees with the services of VolunteerMatch, a non-profit organization that harnesses the power of the Web to connect community groups with individuals interested in getting involved.
CA also organizes volunteer events for employees in its corporate headquarters year-round.
Holiday Program
During the holiday season, CA employees generously open their hearts to make the holidays brighter for children and families in need. Each year, at its headquarters on Long Island, CA hosts the Salvation Army “Adopt An Angel” program. Employees buy holidays gifts for more than 100 families on Long Island. In CA offices around the world, employees make hospitals visits, wraps gifts, host holiday parties and hold food and clothes drives.
