A 23-year veteran of the IT industry, Chris O’Malley is executive vice president of CA’s Cloud Products & Solutions Business Line. In this capacity, he is responsible for developing and executing CA’s strategy for its Cloud Management and IT Management SaaS business units—including oversight of business planning, R&D, and marketing activities. He also serves on CA’s Executive Leadership Team, which supervises the business and technology strategies for the company as a whole.
Previously, Chris was executive vice president and general manager of CA’s Mainframe Business Unit. He initiated and led the execution of CA’s ground-breaking Mainframe 2.0 strategy, which is redefining the way the mainframe is managed so that customers can continue to get maximum value from their platform investments as IT undergoes a major generational shift.
Earlier, Chris was senior vice president of sales strategy and execution—responsible for developing and implementing competitive market strategies for CA’s worldwide sales force.
Chris also held several other senior management positions since joining CA in 1988 with its acquisition of ADR. These included senior vice president and general manager of Sales for the Midwest and Canada. His consistent success in meeting P&L goals and maintaining a culture of excellence has made him an important contributor to CA’s overall business performance.
Chris is a sought-after speaker at industry events such as the SHARE Conference for Enterprise IT Professionals, where he recently delivered a keynote address, and at colleges and universities around the world, where he talks to students about career opportunities in Information Technology.
Chris graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He also participated in executive programs at the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business and New York University’s Stern School of Business.
Chris serves on the board of directors of Bluenog, an enterprise software and solutions company. He also is the founder and a board member of the O'Malley Foundation, a non-profit organization which grants scholarships to deserving students.
