Why was CA World shortened this year?
In survey responses as well as comments from attendees in focus groups last year, time out of the office and expenses continue to be major challenges for attendees.
Also, last year saw less than 10% of our attendees participating in sessions on Thursday morning. These factors were the impetus to the changes you see with the conference format.
Is there exclusive time set aside for attendees to see the exhibition center?
While it is true that there are times where the education sessions offered compete directly with exhibition hours, almost 30% of the time it is open it does not. That is time dedicated exclusively for attendees to see demos and meet with partners/vendors.
Is there any type of document available to help me justify my attendance at CA World?

Why are the discounts different this year than they have been in the past?
Like every other business we are faced with escalating costs. Through the years we have tried keep the registration price as affordable as possible. We believe that CA World is a good value when compared to conferences of comparable vendors in size or scope. Fewer companies have taken advantage of the early registration price in recent times. The industry has been seeing more participants register closer to the conference date. By making the offering to the individual we hoped to incent people to register early. Many conferences are using the strategy of a personal offer. However, ours allows the value to go directly to the company (as it can be applied to the hotel room or meal costs). The attendee has the choice.

CA World will next be held November 13 – 16, 2011.
Where is CA World?
CA World 2011 will be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
What is the cost for registration?
The base Conference Registration fee is $1,595.00 USD.
Members of a CA User Groups or Global User Communities can also receive a $200.00 discount by registering through the User Group site.
When can I register for CA World?
Registration and Housing for CA World opens on May 16, 2011 and can be accessed through the “Register Now” link on this site after that date.
Are there any special programs for Companions?
Yes; the Companion Program Registration fee is $300.00 for companions of registered CA World attendees.

Has there been an increase in the hotel rates?
The average increase across the hotel properties we are offering was a modest 3% year over year. However there was a resort fee added to the cost. The practice of adding a resort fee is becoming more and more prevalent throughout the hospitality industry. The benefits you receive from this resort fee vary from property to property. Why isn’t there transportation being offered between the conference hotels this year as it has in the past?
Through the years we have tried keep the registration price as affordable as possible. We are constantly looking for ways to reduce our escalating expenses. When we reviewed transportation logs from CA World 2010, we saw that a very small percentage of our attendees availed themselves of this service. We saw it as a way to reduce cost with minimal impact.
Please keep in mind that TheHotel is connected to the Mandalay Bay and the Luxor is connected through the shopping mall as well as via tram.
Educational Offerings
Why have the education dates changed for 2011?
In response to attendee concerns in previous years about the length of our conference, this year we have elected to refine our education offerings and offer them during the week at the same time as our focus area sessions. In addition, we will be adding a broad selection of self-paced labs that will be available to our attendees.
Why isn’t there pre-conference education scheduled on the weekend like it has been in the past?
We elected to alter the way we offer our education classes by moving them to the weekday portion of the program and by offering a significant amount of content via self-paced labs. This was done largely to address the concerns from attendees regarding expenses and time out of the office.
Will the self-paced Education offerings on Monday – Wednesday prevent attendance of some instructor-led classes?
The self-paced content is web-based, with online instruction. At last count, we expect to have hundreds of sessions available. These titles will run from 30 minutes to 2 hours in duration. Our goal is to provide our attendees tremendous flexibility with their schedules. Although these courses are offered during the same timeframe they are designed to complement not compete with our traditional focus area content.
We are also exploring the idea of extended hours (early mornings and evenings) for those people looking to maximize the value of attendance.
Sessions
How is the session content organized at CA World?
Sessions are organized into Focus Areas that will address current trends such as Cloud Computing Management, IT Management Software-as-a-Service, Security, Service Assurance, Virtualization and Automation. We will have a mix of offerings that range from educational hands on labs to CA Technologies solution roadmaps to thought leadership panel discussions.
Agenda Builder
When will the CA World Agenda Builder be available?
The Agenda Builder application will be available approximately September 15, 2011. You can use the agenda builder to view focus area and track descriptions, browse session topics, and search for session topics, speakers or products. You can use the agenda builder to create a personal agenda as a justification for participation or to plan your activities. After building your personal agenda, you can email it to co-workers or fellow user community members. You can also download your personal agenda to your email application and then synch it with your Blackberry, iPhone or PDA. We don’t recommend doing this until the agenda is finalized approximately November 1, 2011

How can I schedule an appointment for a meeting with technical resources in the Expert Chats Center?
Prior to CA World, you can schedule a one-on-one chat with a product/technical expert by submitting a meeting request using this form.
What types of individuals are available for meetings in the Expert Chats Center?
The Expert Chats Center has traditionally been staffed with Level 1 Support, Sustaining Engineering and Technical Sales IT professionals. They can answer questions on how to use a product, how to install a product, how to prepare for an installation or upgrade of a product, and anything from an open support issue all the way up to white boarding a strategy for your company.
How can I schedule an appointment with a CA Technologies management or sales resource in the High Value Networking Center (HVNC)?
