CA Technologies Offers Customers Same-Day Support for IBM DB2 v11 for z/OS for Improved Database Management


Company Committed to Supporting IBM Advancements in Widely Installed DB2 Solutions to Boost IT Availability, Service Levels and Efficiency

ISLANDIA, N.Y., October 1, 2013—CA Technologies (NASDAQ:CA) today announced “Day One” support for IBM DB2 v11 for z/OS.

Customers who have installed CA Database Management Solutions for DB2 for z/OS version 17.0 (DB2 Tools 17.0), a suite of interoperable solutions to improve database administration, are able to take advantage of the capabilities of IBM DB2 v11 to boost efficiency and reliability of data backup and recovery, and achieve higher service levels, data availability and application responsiveness.

This is important to global banks and other large companies that rely on the mainframe as a cornerstone of the modern IT environment. For many companies it is vital to remain current with the latest capabilities of IBM System z, the most advanced commercial computer available. System z combines high speed and secure transaction processing with state-of-the-art application facilities, integrated analytics and cloud computing, and is central to keeping businesses up and running 24/7.

One of the most important DB2 11 features supported by CA Technologies is Extended Logging, which is designed to reduce the risk of outages, therefore helping customers to achieve higher availability of their IT services.
