A Virtual Lab is a fully functional learning environment with CA software available for hands-on real world lab exercises. Use Virtual Labs during Virtual Instructor-Led Training courses or take advantage of the labs to sharpen your skills in a risk-free, practice environment. This web-based, fully functional learning environment with CA software is available in one-business week (M-F) increments where applicable.

The information below is designed to walk you through the process of verifying that your hardware, software and network will support your upcoming CA Education VL class.

IMPORTANT: A company’s Internet Firewall can prevent access to CA Education Virtual Learning courses. Please confirm with your IT department that this will not be a problem for your site (company).

2. Launch the WebEx virtual classroom application.

Go to the following URL below to go to WebEx Training Center and navigate to Support > Downloads to install WebEx Training Manager, or join training directly: http://catechnologies.webex.com/trainingcenter

3. Perform Skytap Connectivity Checker for Virtual Learning Labs prior to the course start date.

Each student is required to test their local computer to ensure they pass the system requirements:

  • Run the Connectivity Checker here: connectivity.skytap.com
  • Select region “US-East” from the drop down menu and click on “Start Connectivity Checker.” The test may take a few minutes to complete. Note: only students in the Asia Pacific region should select “APAC” from the drop down menu.

In the event you fail the test, check the Skytap connection help links:

4. Log into the class early to download materials.

You will receive an email containing the link to your training material license code. Follow the steps in the email to create and register your license code for your course materials.

You must log into the virtual classroom at least 15 minutes prior to class to configure your audio and download course updates. This will ensure clean slide transitions during the lecture.

There are two parts to run for Skytap connectivity compliance.

  • Select region “US-East” from the drop down menu and click on “Start Connectivity Checker.” The test may take a few minutes to complete. Note: only students in the Asia Pacific region should select “APAC” from the drop down menu.

2. The classroom that will host the onsite training class requires the following bandwidth test to be performed from within:

  • Run the Skytap Speed Test here: speedtest.skytap.com
  • Click on “Skytap US-East.” The test may take a few minutes to complete. Note: only students in the Asia Pacific region should select “APAC” from the drop down menu.
  • Submit a copy of screenshots of bandwidth speed test results via email to your Education sales rep and to educationlabs@ca.com. If you fail the test, please escalate to your CA Education sales representative.

3. Download training course materials.

You will receive an email containing the link to your training material license code. Follow the steps in the email to create and register your license code for your course materials.
