Boston Limited Debuts Cloud Hardware Appliance

Complete Packaged Solution Features the CA AppLogic® Cloud Computing Platform Running on Supermicro® Hardware

London, November 30, 2011 - Boston Limited today announced availability of its Business-in-a-Box platform based on original hardware from Super Micro Computer, Inc. ®, and preinstalled CA AppLogic® software from industry leader CA Technologies.

At CA World 2011, CA Technologies introduced the latest version of the CA AppLogic® turnkey cloud platform. Enterprises and managed service providers are facing a major shift in IT as cloud computing innovation drives quicker and more efficient delivery of business services. To help companies get to the cloud fast, CA Technologies offers a unique application-centric approach. The CA AppLogic platform helps organizations deliver Business Service Innovation: new levels of speed, innovation, performance and cost/risk efficiencies associated with cloud deployments, and enter new markets more quickly than previously possible.

Boston Limited has worked closely with Supermicro and CA Technologies to help ensure the system architecture is recognized and supported by all parties, creating a low cost and easy-to-deploy system.

Manoj Nayee, managing director of Boston Limited said, “Our Business-in-a-Box system can be readily utilized by anyone creating a cloud environment. It is particularly suited to midmarket companies that  are entering the cloud world and need to be sure they can buy hardware today that will scale as they grow. Once customers have decided on our Business-in-a-Box solution, they can be up and running within hours with the CA AppLogic platform preinstalled.”

“Customers want simple and effective deployment of cloud infrastructure. Our drag and drop software makes this possible. Boston Limited has made the process easier with its new CA AppLogic hardware appliance offering,” said Ryan Shopp, vice president of Product Marketing, Virtualization and Automation, CA Technologies. “We are eager to see Boston Limited expand its business, particularly in the mid-market, making the cloud more accessible to organizations across many industries.”

The Business-in-a-box package is available from under $10,000 through to $30,000 for higher specification and fully ready to go solutions and is available now.

“I am very happy to see Boston Limited adopt an approach that simplifies cloud deployment,” said Dev Tyagi, general manager at Supermicro UK. “They have taken all of the elements that need to drive the cloud back end, like the compute, switch fabric, storage and software, and joined it all together so our hardware can be used right away as a turnkey solution. It’s simple but executed very well.”
