CA Technologies Expands Global University Partnership Program to Drive Innovation
New Initiatives Planned with Tel Aviv University in Israel
TEL AVIV, ISRAEL, and ISLANDIA, N.Y., June 20, 2012 – CA Technologies (NASDAQ:CA) today announced it is extending its university relationship program with plans to roll out a new Innovation Center in partnership with Tel Aviv University (TAU) in Israel, collaborating on topics such as IT management and cyber security.
Through its CA University Relations programs, CA Technologies has been working with academic institutions such as Stony Brook University in New York and the International Institute of Information Technology in Hyderabad, India to develop and implement initiatives that drive innovation, offer unique opportunities for students and faculty, and uncover fresh ideas for new products and solutions.
“In a global society of increasing competition and consumer demand, we are committed to leveraging public and private learning to foster a spirit of innovation in the communities we serve and within our own four walls,” said Bill McCracken, chief executive officer, CA Technologies. “Through our university partnerships, motivated, hardworking and energetic students gain an incredible amount of experience that will better prepare them to be future leaders and innovators in the workforce. In turn, we benefit from insights and ideas that can unlock new ways of solving our customers’ challenges, potentially leading to new offerings in the future.”
TAU is the largest academic institution in Israel and is a major center of teaching and research, boasting a diverse and dynamic student body. Its faculty is comprised of nationally and internationally renowned scholars and scientists, covering a range of study programs in the arts and sciences.
“The goal of the partnership is to provide opportunities for TAU faculty and students to work with CA Technologies experts on research and development, offering our students invaluable work-related experience through internships and other projects,” said Professor Joseph Klafter, President, TAU. “Working alongside experts from CA Technologies will give our students competitive edge through hands-on experience addressing real business and IT problems, and by supplementing their classroom learning with access to leading-edge technologies, tools and mentoring.”
CA Technologies is building on its program that combines the IT management software company’s thought leaders and expertise with world-class research resources. The work at the recently announced University Innovation Center in Hyderabad, India and at the CA Technologies Innovation Center at Stony Brook University in New York, is intended to help drive the rapid delivery of innovative, market-disrupting products and services. In addition, CA Labs, the research division within CA Technologies, drives advanced technology research by collaborating with universities around the world.
