1.0 Welcome

Welcome to the Readme file for CA Software Change Manager Enterprise Change Management Dashboard (Dashboard). This readme file provides operating system support, system requirements, known issues, installation considerations, and related information for Dashboard only.

Important! Before using Dashboard, ensure that CA Software Change Manager r7.1 (CA Software), including the CA Software database, is installed and running in your enterprise. For details, see General Considerations.

2.0 Operating System Requirements

A computer running Dashboard locally requires one of the following operating systems:

  • Windows 2000 Professional
  • Windows XP Professional

A client accessing the host server for Dashboard requires a Windows operating system that supports CleverPath Forest & Trees Runtime Option 7.1.

3.0 System Requirements

A computer running Dashboard locally requires the following software:
  • CleverPath Forest & Trees Developer 7.1 (required to customize reports, optional to view reports)
  • CleverPath Forest & Trees Runtime Option 7.1 (required to view reports)
  • One of the following RDBMS clients for the RDMBS on which the CA Software database is running:
  • Oracle Client 9.2.0 EE, 9.2.0 SE, 10g, or 10g Release 2
  • Ingres client version 3.0.3
  • Microsoft SQL Server client 2000 or 2005

A client accessing the host server for Dashboard requires CleverPath Forest & Trees Runtime Option 7.1.


4.0 Installation Considerations

For instructions to install and use the Dashboard, see the CA Software Change Manager Enterprise Change Management Inside the Dashboard guide (Enterprise_Dashboard_ENU.pdf). This guide is supplied with the Dashboard installation files and this Dashboard readme file.

5.0 General Considerations

Before you use the Dashboard, do the following:
  • In your enterprise, install CA Software r7.1, including the CA Software server, database, and client.

    Note: The CA Software server, client, or agent is not required to be installed locally on the computer running Dashboard or the computers accessing Dashboard.
  • Ensure that the CA Software database is running.

For instructions to perform these tasks, see the CA Software Change Manager Installation Guide. For operating system support, system requirements, known issues, installation considerations, general considerations, and related information for CA Software r7.1, see the CA Software r7.1 readme. For instructions to install CA Software r7.1, see the CA Software r7.1 Installation Guide. All CA Software documents are available in the Docs directory on the CA Software r7.1 installation media. If you are installing the Harvest Dashborad on Windows 2000 you must also install the following Hot Fix. This Hot Fix only applies if you are using Harvest 7.1 GA.
