1 At release, PAM 4.0 will be available with English documentation only. Localized documentation will be available for download within 90 days of GA with the exception of Simplified Chinese. Localized documentation for Simplified Chinese is currently not scheduled.

Earlier version CA IT PAM 3.0 supported localizations for Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish. If you upgrade from 3.0 to 4.0, for and are currently using the Hungarian, Polish, or Russian locales, you will need to change to a supported locale. Content prepared under CA IT PAM 3.0, will continue to be usable.

2 Database servers (Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server) can be located on another host than the corresponding PAM Orchestrator. PAM Orchestrators interact with the Database servers exclusively through the corresponding JDBC drivers. As a result, there are no constraints on supported platforms for Database servers other than those imposed by the Database server vendor.

Starting with PAM 4.0, database servers must be configured to enable extended transactions (XA). Supported versions of Oracle and MySQL do this by default, but for SQL Server configuration changes as described in the PAM 4.0 Installation Guide may be required.

3 Oracle DBMS May Return Corrupted Data

Important! If you are using an Oracle DBMS there is a known Oracle defect (Oracle bug # 9347941 INTERMITTENT CLOB DATA CORRUPTION) in which concurrent inserts of CLOB data where the individual column values exceed 52K bytes in size have caused data corruption. This issue has been seen in both 10g and 11g databases.

As a work-around, we recommend one of the following:

  • See Oracle Support for a solution when you are ready to install and deploy CA Service Management, PAM, and other CA products

  • Use Microsoft SQL Server as your DBMS for CA Service Management, PAM, and other CA products

4 Usually where a version of an OS or Database is supported, all Service Packs for that version are supported also. If a component of the version is shown as x, then all releases matching that pattern are supported (E.g. Firefox 4.xindicates support for 4.1, 4.2, etc).

Please check product "Compatibilities" on support.ca.com to confirm support for a specific maintenance level.

5 For PAM Orchestrators, Microsoft Windows Server Standard, Enterprise, and Datacenter Editions are supported.

6 Windows patch 979306 is required.

7 JavaScript engine provided with IE8 is significantly slower than those provided with other supported browsers, and it is suggested that preference be given to other supported browsers.

8 Oracle Java versions 1.6.0_27 (6u27) though 1.6.0_29 (6u29) contained bug 7105007 which affects applications, including CA Process Automation (PAM), which use JDBC to connect to Microsoft SQL Server. Please avoid this version of Java when using PAM with Microsoft SQL Server.
