Trust and empowerment are the tools that enable CA employees to present new ideas and display their individual talents. This is how we effect change. We believe that speed, execution and problem-solving are delivered when initiative is nurtured and people can easily brainstorm and develop new ideas in a supportive environment. Our role as a company is to provide the spark to ignite ideas. This helps create avenues for employees to advance innovation organically.


Striving to be an employer of choice and attracting, developing, retaining and inspiring top talent helps ensure that we can create and deliver the most effective solutions to our customers. Employee Surveys


We conduct a comprehensive Employee Opinion Survey (EOS) every 18 to 24 months. In between each EOS, we also conduct a Pulse Survey to monitor progress. Here are key results from our 2015 EOS:

Strengths: The most favorable results in the survey, with a score of 80 percent or more, were for manager and team effectiveness, understanding and alignment with organization’s mission and purpose, positive work environment, total rewards and overall job satisfaction. Our employee engagement figures remain strong and are consistent with other high tech companies.

Improvements: Increases were seen in overall job satisfaction, pride in working for CA and being motivated to go beyond what is expected to help CA succeed.

Outcomes: Compared to other high-tech companies, we lead the way in providing access to information that helps employees effectively perform their jobs; opportunities for learning and development; employees being involved in decisions; employees feeling valued; and accountability.

CA Communities


CA Communities is where members go every day to collaborate on CA Technologies products. Customers, partners and CA employees come to the communities to get answers to product-related questions, submit product ideas, view product tips and tricks, and more. Members help customers become experts on the products they use every day, and even help shape the future of CA Technologies products by submitting product enhancement requests and voting on the ideas of other community members. CA Communities members are located in more than 170 countries and can participate in hundreds of thousands of conversations in more than 40 communities.

CA Sustain


This web-based platform helps employees take steps toward a more environmentally and socially responsible lifestyle. When interacting within the site, employees are recognized when they commit to actions they care about. Through the use of social networks, employees can share their commitments and recruit others to join them, multiplying the positive impact on the environment, community and workplace culture.

Green Teams


Our Green Teams are employee-led groups that volunteer their time to work on sustainability by managing local office-greening activities and encouraging more environmentally friendly behavior. These teams leverage our employees’ energy and ideas, empowering them to move our sustainability strategy forward.

  • THRIVE, which represents our commitment to diversity and inclusion, was very much a part of our support for Indiana technology companies’ disavowal of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act in March 2015. As CEO Mike Gregoire wrote at the time: “It is important for our customers and partners in Indiana and everywhere around the world to know that CA believes that the world should be an inclusive place where all people are accepted, celebrated and supported. We all benefit when individuals tackle challenges from different angles and possess diverse viewpoints. Ultimately, this translates to better business outcomes for our customers and partners. In short, diversity matters because innovation and invention are the by-products of inclusive practices and a diverse workforce.”
  • Approximately 30 percent of global participants in CA’s application-based Leadership Development Programs are women.
  • CA utilizes a North America Diversity candidate slate program that ensures that all open requisitions have at least one diverse candidate for consideration in the interview process. CA Technologies always hires the best candidate for a job, and this program has broadened our ability to do that. Since its implementation, more than 75 percent of our open job requisitions in North America have had a diverse slate of candidates.
  • Our investments in a number of different STEM partnerships encourage individuals from underrepresented groups to pursue technology-related degrees and professions.
  • Through our global Employee Network Groups, employees actively participate in diversity-specific recruitment activities.
  • According to the Anita Borg Institute’s 2014 Benchmarking Report, CA’s representation of technical women at the entry level far exceeds the industry average by more than 20 percent. We are also above the industry benchmark for senior-level technical managers and contributors who are women.
