Volunteers from CA planned an educational and fun-filled program for the children. Aged 12 and under, the children had an enjoyable time at the Singapore Science Centre, where they took part in a guided tour as well as a workshop on how to build rockets from craft materials.
“CA has a comprehensive global program that encourages volunteerism and giving back to the community where we live and work,” said Kelly Long, vice president, Communications, Asia Pacific & Japan. “We are happy to work with Beyond Social Services to help children and youths in less privileged communities realize their untapped potential through STEM-related experiences.”
STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education. CA Technologies has a primary focus on advancing STEM learning. The goal is to help transform the lives of young people around the globe and encourage the development of future leaders in IT. These areas are important foundations as the fastest growing occupations in the next decade will require at least some background in STEM.
“I’m happy that our children thoroughly enjoyed themselves at the CA Technologies Kids’ Day Out event. We are deeply appreciative of the volunteers from CA Technologies, who have contributed time and effort to make a difference in the lives of these young children and inspire them through the activities. We look forward to continuing this partnership with CA,” said Ms Joanne Yau, a community worker with Beyond Social Services.
