More than 20 children from families in need participate in a STEM-themed outing organized by CA and Beyond Social Services

SINGAPORE, October 7, 2016 – CA Technologies hosted more than 20 children from families in need to a fun-filled educational outing to the ArtScience Museum. The initiative – Kids’ Day Out, is an annual CA corporate social responsibility (CSR) event, led by a group of volunteers from the company. It was organized jointly with CA’s CSR partner, Beyond Social Services, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping young people from less privileged backgrounds break away from the poverty cycle.
Volunteers from CA planned the learning experience, where four to six-year-olds participated in a Creative Aquarium workshop, and went on a tour of the Future World exhibit, discovering how art meets science.
“CA Technologies is dedicated to giving back to people and communities in need,” said Nick Lim, vice president, ASEAN & Greater China, CA Technologies. “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Beyond Social Services for the sixth year, helping to contribute toward enriching the lives and well-being of children.”
CA has a primary philanthropic focus in the advancement of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) learning. The goal is to help transform the lives of young people around the globe and encourage the development of future leaders in IT. These areas are important foundations, as the fastest growing occupations in the next decade will require at least some background in STEM.
“This year’s activities at the CA Technologies Kids’ Day Out were not just educational, but also offered a platform for these young children to develop their creative skills,” said Swee Lee, principal, Healthy Start Child Development Centre, Beyond Social Services. “The volunteers from CA did a fantastic job supporting this annual event, and the feedback we received from the children has been truly heart-warming.”
