Foundation Services

Foundation services provide a benchmark CA PPM infrastructure that is easier to maintain and can be readily expanded. Includes basic installation, PMO Accelerator/ Solution Content Pack and Management OBS Structures.

Start by determining the base capabilities needed to achieve business outcomes:

Project management. Tracking projects, assessing risks, evaluating performance versus historical project data and calculating basic financial metrics using actual, budgeted or forecast costs and benefits.

Resource management. Defining standard resource roles, aligning resources to roles, establishing resource profile information and associating calendars to resources, and performance application management activities.

Portfolio management. Defining standard definitions for project portfolios and aligning investment content to portfolios for high-level portfolio assessments including top-down planning supported with drill-down capabilities to view investment-level detail and idea management.

Combined foundation. Defining, processing and reporting on the most commonly utilized project, resource and portfolio management capabilities.

Acceleration Services

Project Management Acceleration Services

  • Manage project execution. Project information through a “single pane of glass.” Enterprise-view management reports. Business intelligence for controlling costs and risk. Improve governance.
  • Manage project financials. Visibility into labor and non-labor costs. Monitor and identify ways to improve returns. Perform and monitor detailed budgeting and forecasting.

  • Agile management. Enable Integrated User Experience for collaboration between CA Agile Central and CA PPM.

Resource Management

Portfolio Management

  • Application rationalization. Rationalize applications, often for a particular service.

Reporting

  • Report conversion. Convert legacy reports from one reporting tool to Jaspersoft. Convert data captured and processed within CA PPM to support decisions.
  • Report and portlet development. Create new reports and portlets, including from data captured and processed in CA PPM. Includes capability for trending information from snapshot historical data tables.
  • Report and portlet information optimization. Tune and optimize existing custom reports and dashboards. Does not include report development or specific requirements regarding business intelligence semantic layers.
  • Information strategy. Collaborate and consult to define strategies for optimizing operational report and metric, process enablement report, and using captured date for better outcomes.

Adoption

  • CA PPM adoption dashboard. Set of portlets and tabs built to support improved adoption. Built around core principles of business outcomes, data quality and tool usage. Simplifies tracking progress, improves data quality and monitors user engagement and adoption.
