The purpose of the day was to have the participants experience an awesome release planning session, with the simulation motivating them and turning them into promoters in their own groups, to do release planning sessions themselves.

Royal Philips is a leading health technology company focused on improving people’s health and enabling better outcomes across the health continuum—from healthy living and prevention to diagnosis, treatment and home care.
Philips worked with CA Agile Central and Scaled Agile, Inc. to run a full-day release planning simulation with over 100 participants. The company worked in teams on a project, planning an elderly “House of the Future.” Together the participants needed to plan and unite business strategy, connect multiple teams and work together to deliver value and ensure cross-functional transparency.
Philips decided to implement the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®) and partner with CA Agile consultants to run the event, using CA Agile Central as the supporting program platform.

The release planning event enhanced team collaboration and effectiveness and enabled them to identify risks and dependencies on-site, allowing the teams to prioritize work and workloads, resolve scheduling conflicts immediately and proactively mitigate risks when they arose.
