The rise of the app economy has led to widespread industry disruption and dramatic changes in customer behavior and expectations. But not all industries are being impacted in the same way, and companies within different sectors have varied priorities and strategies when it comes to addressing digital transformation.
A new global survey of 1,442 IT and business leaders looked at these differences across nine industry sectors: Automotive, Consumer Electronics, Consumer Packaged Goods, Financial Services, Healthcare, Public Sector, Retail, Telecom and Utilities/Energy.
The results yield some surprising findings:
- 86% of telecoms are implementing DevOps, the highest of any industry
- 47% of healthcare organizations are implementing digital transformation projects, the lowest of any industry
- In three years, financial services companies will be allocating 43% of their IT budget to digital initiatives, the highest of any industry
