Informing American voters with data
The CNN Politics app lets you drill into polling data and find out how different demographics are thinking about the U.S. election.
It’s five days to election day and the polls are swinging wildly, but what’s the data behind the numbers? Throughout this election cycle, CNN has been working with CA Technologies to aggregate and integrate electorate data into the CNN Politics app.
The latest update to the CNN Politics app gives American voters a more personalized view of the data. You’re now able to drill down into the polling data and parse it by demographic.
Want to know how women in Florida are feeling, or how high school educated voters responded when asked which candidate would be better at improving the economy? The answers are at your fingertips.
CA Live API Creator is working in the background to bring together several different data sets in a way that makes sense for the voter.
APIs are also playing a big role in CNN’s #MyVote campaign, which captures public sentiment in photographs and unites the conversation on social media. CNN’s #MyVote Campaign Camper tour launched in September and is busy making stops in key swing states.
#MyVote adds a whole new data source for CNN editors and app users. CA Live API Creator will be integrating the data from #MyVote into the CNN Politics App as we approach the election night.
In addition to powering the app experience, CA is the proud technology sponsor of the 2016 America’s Choice Election on CNN.
Technology and data can be true equalizers when it comes to informing people about politics. Together with CNN, we are shaping a new election experience by sparking dialogue and harnessing insights from the conversations through technology.
