DATCHET, June 27 , 2017 – CA Technologies (NASDAQ:CA) today announced that the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust is enhancing mental healthcare programme planning and delivery with CA Project & Portfolio Management (PPM). The Trust, based in London, is using CA PPM to track, prioritise, and measure the success of investment decisions. The Trust intends to utilize this unified, comprehensive approach to project management to improve data governance and contribute to the development and delivery of effective clinical interventions which improve the mental health and wellbeing of children, young people, and adults.
“The Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust is excited to partner with CA Technologies on this unified approach to project and portfolio management,” says David Wyndham Lewis, chief information officer, the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust. “This SaaS-based approach to PPM will introduce a programmatic and pragmatic approach to our entire portfolio of projects and contribute to the health and wellbeing of the individuals and communities we serve. For the first time, we will be able to bring together a consolidated view of the beneficial transformation we are undertaking across our clinical and education business; this will help ensure the Trust remains a centre of research excellence in the application of psychological and social theory and practice.”
As a health authority, the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust faces regulatory and financial scrutiny; therefore, it needs to adapt to increased demand for treatment, healthcare transparency and treatment personalisation. Until recently however, project execution has largely been the responsibility of individual departments across the Trust, who in turn leverage disparate systems like Word and Excel to track and report on progress. This presented significant challenges for managing project deadlines, project scope and budgets.
In response, the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust has standardised on CA PPM to support programme and project management, real-time reporting, benefit forecasting, objective status and visibility through the entire lifecycle—from the original business objective right the way through to project benefit realisation. The PPM solution will be applied to a broad spectrum of projects: from facilities and resource management, to clinical services transformation, and mental health research programmes.
Teams will have the flexibility to assign tasks, manage deliverables, and be guided by business process improvement methodologies. Moreover, relevant, real-time reporting and analysis will enable teams across the Trust to instantly assess progress with direct visibility into what’s realised, what’s forecasted, what issues exist, and how all of this information impacts set objectives. This will ultimately enable the controlled and predictable execution of the Trust’s projects and programmes, enabling the Trust to deliver the transformation initiatives that drive the Trust on time and within pre-defined results.
The Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust is partnering with Pemari, one of the UK’s leading PPM integration consultancies, to develop and deliver the PM programme.
“We chose CA PPM because it offers the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust a PPM solution that is pre-packaged and ready to go for our preferred change governance and programme and project management methodologies,” adds Wyndham Lewis. “It’s not complex, it’s easy to use for senior management, project and operational technical staff. It has clearly demonstrated its value swiftly following the initial implementation. Couple these factors with Pemari’s expert PPM skills, experience of the existing best practice across many industries, and proven deployment capabilities and we are confident that the Trust will be able to adhere to its future governance goals and so successfully deliver the changes required for its strategic objectives.”
