Organizational leaders have concluded that the time for talking about a digital transformation has long passed, and they're seeing that "walking the walk" is making a significant, positive impact on accomplishing strategic objectives, according to a recent survey conducted by Coleman Parkes for CA Technologies.
The resulting report, "Keeping Score: Why Digital Transformation Matters," indicates that most companies are redefining the way they conduct business and interact with customers because of their transformation efforts. They're also boosting employee productivity and workflow efficiency, while reducing IT-related costs. But achieving these benefits requires C-level commitment, findings reveal. Specifically, more organizations are hiring the staff and leaders needed to support digital initiatives. They're also adopting agile methodologies, while improving their cyber-security efforts.
"Clearly, digital transformation is a journey and a common element in process improvement," said Otto Berkes, chief technology officer at CA Technologies. "With the critical role software now plays in helping [execute] digital strategies, you could be doing well today, but you could be doing even better tomorrow. Becoming more advanced in the adoption of these key enabling technologies and practices should be at the top of every business executive's agenda."
