Verizon CaaS provides a high-performance SAS 70 Type II-compliant environment in which CA Technologies can host its applications securely and reliably. This hosted software delivery option complements CA Technologies traditional on-premise software delivery and its growing on-demand, SaaS delivery model for CA Service Desk Manager On Demand and CA Clarity™ PPM On Demand.
“The CA Technologies offering on our cloud infrastructure underscores the shift we are seeing toward cloud adoption,” said Kerry Bailey, Verizon group president of enterprise cloud strategy and services. “More and more companies are using cloud computing to fundamentally improve the way they do business. The combination of CA Technologies leading IT management solutions and Verizon’s world-class cloud computing platform will enable more customers to derive greater value and flexibility.”
According to Adam Elster, general manager, Services, Support and Education Sales, CA Technologies, “Cloud computing is a core business for Verizon, and its reliability and security are strategic value-adds for customers. CA Technologies recognizes that there is a growing trend for customers to use our software in an on-demand, SaaS delivery model, but we also need to address the needs of customers who want the control they get by owning the software license – without the burden and cost of managing the application and its infrastructure. Providing the option to host our software on Verizon’s cloud reinforces our commitment to helping customers achieve cost savings and agility no matter what delivery model they choose. In the future, we will consider hosting other software applications on Verizon’s cloud.”
In the Verizon cloud, CA Technologies customers will retain their licenses to the software. They will also be able to configure the solutions to their own needs or contract with CA Services to configure the solutions. Customers will benefit from the hosting expertise of CA Services, which will monitor and manage the application database and platform. Additionally, customers may be able to offload costs associated with running hardware, such as cooling and power, helping to save money and improve business agility.
With CA Technologies hosting customer applications on Verizon CaaS, customers will benefit from:
• The option to use CA Clarity PPM in either an on-premise deployment, through CA Technologies hosting on Verizon CaaS, or delivered on demand, thereby providing increased flexibility.
• Agility to rapidly deploy and provision IT service demands.
• Access to 1400+ CA Services experts for software upgrades, configuration, customization and management of solutions.
• Facilitation of availability, redundancy and enterprise-wide coverage via integrated delivery centers in the U.S. and the Netherlands, underpinned by the world-class Verizon global IP network.
• Compliance with PCI-DSS version 1 for robust data security.
