Cloud Workshop

Time: 10 am CST

Business leaders are asking IT to provide an environment that responds quickly to business needs. Public Clouds have demonstrated their value; now Private Clouds are beginning to emerge. To help you get your arms around your environment CA has designed a half-day workshop where experts from the field will share their experience and help you assess the risks and benefits of moving your application to public, private or hybrid clouds.

The solution, CA’s Cloud 360 workshop, in this workshop you will be asked to select an application that you want to run in the cloud. Our cloud-computing experts will walk you through CA’s Cloud 360 framework by applying the 4 key stages (Rationalize, Define, Predict and Simulate) of our methodology to your application.

We begin by running the application through four key filters; Business, Technology, Operational and Regulatory/Compliance leveraging CA’s Clarity PPMTM Cloud Decision Model. Once we have established that the application is fit for the cloud, we then map the application to the different deployment options or cloud types (e.g. public, hybrid, private or community) and service delivery models (e.g. IaaS, PaaS, SaaS). We complete the first stage by performing a high-level cost-benefit analysis based on the target cloud platform.

We will also discuss service level design, capacity requirements and performance modeling and testing requirements (if applicable) as it pertains to the selected application.

Cloud 360 deliverables; you will receive a customized 3 to 5 page report highlighting the findings of the workshop as well as high-level directional recommendations for next steps. You will also receive a 4 to 6 page best practices document that summarizes the methodology behind CA’s Cloud 360 approach.
