Part six of the seven part series:
What if you could get a birds-eye view of a disaster before you send in first responders? What if you could get medicine and treatments to disease-ravaged, remote areas?
These are just some of the capabilities of drones today that will provide a positive impact on society. In this sixth video in the Invent Tomorrow series, Chris Anderson, co-founder and CEO of 3D Robotics, discusses drone adoption and how it is following in the footsteps of other innovations, such as the Internet and personal computers, with consumers driving the adoption and uncovering even more innovative uses.
Still, the controversy around drone usage remains. How do we protect people’s privacy? How do we manage the airspace with other air-bound vehicles? We need to protect the public while embracing this innovation. The rules and regulations are catching up to help minimize the concerns over drone usage, but in some cases, the restrictions are stifling the benefits commercial drones can bring.
