Introduction:

User entered custom IPRange entries are unable to be removed from the system once they are created.

Question:

Once there is a custom entry made, if it is no longer needed how can it be removed?

If it can not be removed, is there a way to nullify the impact?

Environment:
All supported CAPM releases
Answer:
  1. Change will come in a future major release. It will allow deletion/removal of these custom entries. 
  2. Two work around's exist. Both result in no impact or change due to the presence of the custom IPRange entry. 
    1. Set the variable values in the custom IPRange to use the same values as default. Thus by using the same values as default, there will be no actual change from default behavior. The IP referenced will use the same values as all other default devices.
    2. Replace the <IPRange> IP address with a different address in the <IPRange>. No checking performed against the IP addresses set in a custom IPRange entry that could trigger an error. A simple change then could be to set the IP to an invalid one that will not ever be added to the system. For example it would be perfectly fine to enter a range of "1.1.1.1".
