Why are jobs failing with an error about changing the directory 'USER_CONT_NOT_AVAIL' ?
This error can be caused by a conflict in the CA WA System Agent configuration. The 'USER_CONT_NOT_AVAIL' value for the agent parameter oscomponent.initialworkingdirectory was introduced in CA WA System Agent 11.3 SP4 to address job failures as a result of the job owner user's home directory missing. The 'USER_CONT_NOT_AVAIL' directive allows the Agent to run the job even when home directory of the job owner user is not defined.
The CA WA System Agent releases prior to 11.3 SP4 do not understand the 'USER_CONT_NOT_AVAIL' value for oscomponent.initialworkingdirectory parameter and treats it as a literal and tries to change to that directroy, and thus fails.
If the CA WA System Agent release is pre-11.3 SP4, then edit the following parameter in the agentparm.txt
and change to
Save the change and restart the CA WA System Agent service.
As a best practice, consider upgrading the CA WA System Agent to the latest available release.
