Question:

CA ASM2 IXR is failing to reload a VSAM file and fails with the following message: 'IXR0101I user cluster name.AIX (012) - PROCESSING ERROR (184,X''0858'')'.

 

How do we resolve this? Other clusters reload properly.

Answer:

IBM IDCAMS return codes (184,X'0858') says that there is already a dataset with this name on the volume. Possibly uncatalogued orphan. 

 

Recommend that you execute a listing of entries on the volume or VTOC that might be uncataloged. You will probably find a orphaned and uncataloged index or data component so the rename failed.

Clean up the orphan components and then perform the reload again.
