Critical issue with using PAM 4.0 or 4.1 GA with newer versions of Firefox and Chrome

Date: April 12, 2013

Last Updated: January 23, 2014

An issue with the mxGraph component used in CA Process Automation (PAM) when using later versions of the Firefox browser (starting with version released April 2013) or Chrome (starting with version 32, released January 2014) has been found.

Because of this it is STRONGLY advised NOT to use versions 4.0, 4.0 SP01, or 4.1 of CA Process Automation with these browser versions.

The symptom seen is that a PAM Process which has been updated using these browser versions will hang when run. Subsequent attempts to load the Process for viewing or further editing will also hang.

PAM Processes that are not modified will not be affected, and will run without issue.

This problem has been addressed in CA Process Automation starting with version 4.1 SP01.

If you have processes that have been affected by this issue, please contact CA support. Support will ask you to provide an export of the affected PAM Process(es). If you are using PAM 4.1 you must not specify "Export Release Versions in Non-modifiable Mode." for your export. CA Technologies support will correct the damage to the Process definition introduced by this problem, and return them for you to reimport into your environment.
