Product Support Announcement
Dear Advantage CA-IDMS Customers:
Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) is continually working to improve our software and services to best meet the needs of our customers. With the announcement of the general availability of Advantage CA-IDMS r16, we would like to take this opportunity to review the support schedule for currently supported releases of Advantage CA-IDMS (formerly known as CA-IDMS).
Support for Advantage CA-IDMS r14.1 will be discontinued as of September 30, 2005.
At this time drop support dates have not been announced for Advantage CA-IDMS r15 and r16.
Advantage CA-IDMS r16 provides two-phase commit support, TCP/IP application support as well as many other features for improved productivity, open access, non-stop processing, and performance benefits.
If you have not yet upgraded to Advantage CA-IDMS r16, we urge you to do so as soon as possible so you can take full advantage of the latest new features and enhancements this release has to offer. Customers with an active maintenance contract can upgrade directly from Advantage CA-IDMS r14.1 or r15.0 to Advantage CA-IDMS r16. CA would like to help make your upgrade to the latest release of Advantage CA-IDMS as straightforward and successful as possible. Therefore to assist you, we are offering the following:
Publication of the complete Advantage CA-IDMS documentation set to help you to prepare for your upgrade to Advantage CA-IDMS r16. These documents can be viewed at Support.ca.com.
CA Technology Services is available for a fee to assist in any or all parts of the upgrade, including analysis of the current system, preparation for the upgrade, testing, and performing the upgrade itself. For more information please outline your needs at http://ca.com/services/.
When you are ready to request your upgrade or to obtain more information about Advantage CA-IDMS r16, please call 1-800-841-8743 in North America. If you are outside of North America, please call your local account representative or the local CA office.
