Connie Smallwood is Vice President of Innovation and University Programs for CA Technologies. She leads and manages the innovation and thought leadership initiatives within the company. These include innovation and idea management programs, patent program, technical recognition events and employee engagement initiatives. She also manages the company’s publishing programs, including CA Press.
In addition to innovation, Connie is responsible for establishing CA Technologies presence and image with colleges and universities around the world through strong, mutually supportive partnerships between CA Technologies and the academic community, including the CA Academic Initiative.
Connie is also the elected President of the CA Technologies Council for Technical Excellence, leading an organization of the company’s top 100 technical leaders to drive innovation, collaboration and change. In 2010, she established the Women@CA Network, an employee network group focused on gender diversity.
Connie joined CA Technologies from IBM® Corporation, where she held a number of leadership positions in IBM’s software, hardware and corporate divisions. Her experience includes university relations, marketing and communications, interactive marketing, software development and information development.
Connie has spoken at a number of conferences about innovation, personal brand and women in IT. She has two patents pending with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
